Privacy Policy
How LATORIN collects, uses, and protects your information.
Last updated: 2026-07-17
This Privacy Policy explains what information LATORIN ("we", "us") collects when you use our website and services (including for learners in Iran), how we use it, who helps us process it, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
TL;DR: we collect account, learning, Speaking, and payment data only to run the service.
Account data you provide: username, password (stored hashed), email (including via Google sign-in when you choose it), Iranian mobile number for OTP when you link a phone, display name, avatar, and language preference. Learning data: placement results, exam attempts, answers, scores and band estimates, progress, LATORIN AI chat related to exams, and speaking session metadata. Speaking: microphone audio during live AI Speaking calls, and transcripts/recordings needed to run and grade the session (including free taster where applicable). Local browser recordings in free practice are not uploaded or retained after you leave the page. Payments: wallet balance and transaction history, purchase records, and payment references from the gateway (we do not store full card numbers). Technical data: IP address, browser/device type, approximate locale, and security logs needed to keep the service safe.
2. How we use information
TL;DR: we use your data to run and improve the service. We do not sell your personal information.
To create and secure your account (including SMS OTP where enabled), deliver exams and results, grade Writing/Speaking with AI tools, run the wallet and shop, provide support, prevent fraud and abuse, improve the product, send essential service messages, and meet legal or regulatory duties. We do not sell your personal information.
3. How we share information
TL;DR: we only share data with providers needed to run LATORIN (hosting, payments, SMS, AI).
We share data only when needed to run LATORIN: hosting and infrastructure providers; payment gateways (Iranian and/or international, depending on what is enabled for your purchase); SMS providers for OTP; AI and voice providers that process exam text/audio for grading or live Speaking; and email or messaging tools for support. These processors may operate outside Iran. We require them to use data only for providing their service to us. We may also disclose information if required by applicable law or to protect users and the platform.
4. Your rights
TL;DR: you can view, correct, or delete your data, or contact info@latorin.ir.
You may access, correct, or delete much of your data from account settings, or request help at info@latorin.ir. You may also ask us to export account data where reasonably possible. If you are in Iran, we process requests in line with applicable Iranian rules and our operational capacity. Users in other countries may have additional rights under their local law (for example data protection laws in the EU/UK or elsewhere); contact us and we will respond as required. Deleting your account removes personal data within about 30 days, except records we must keep (for example payment history required by law or dispute handling).
5. Security
TL;DR: we use TLS encryption and access controls. Keep your password and OTP codes private.
We use TLS for data in transit, hashed passwords, access controls, and other standard safeguards. No online service is perfectly secure; please keep your password private and do not share OTP codes.
6. Data retention
TL;DR: data is kept while your account is active; deleted within 30 days after account deletion.
We keep account and learning data while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. Payment and wallet records may be kept longer for accounting, fraud prevention, and legal requirements. After account deletion, personal data is removed or anonymised within 30 days except where retention is required.
7. Cookies and similar technology
TL;DR: we only use essential cookies for login and language. No advertising trackers.
We use necessary first-party cookies and similar storage so the product works: for example, keeping you signed in (httpOnly refresh session), remembering language (fa/en), and basic security. These are not advertising trackers. For Iran-first use with only essential cookies, we do not show a separate cookie consent banner. If we later add optional analytics or marketing tools, we will update this section and, where the law requires, ask for consent. You can control cookies in your browser; blocking essential cookies may break login.
